1. Files you process with Toolnova's tools

Tools such as Merge PDF, Split PDF, PDF to Word, Image to PDF, OCR and the Document Scanner run entirely inside your browser tab using JavaScript libraries downloaded to your device. When you select or drop a file into one of these tools:

• The file's contents are read and processed using your browser's own memory and processing power.
• The file is not transmitted to a Toolnova server as part of using the tool.
• Nothing about the file's contents is logged, stored or retained by Toolnova once you close the browser tab or navigate away.

You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools (Network tab) while using any file-based tool, and you'll see requests only for the page's own code and, on first use, a one-time download of the processing library — never a request carrying your file's contents.

This also means Toolnova has no ability to recover a file for you if you lose it, and no ability to see, moderate or remove file contents processed through the tools, because that content was never received by Toolnova in the first place.

2. Information collected automatically

Separately from file processing, like most websites, Toolnova may collect standard technical information when you visit, such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you view. This is used in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the site — it is not linked to any files you process with the tools.

Analytics

Toolnova uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage. Analytics and advertising cookies are set to denied by default under Google's Consent Mode, and only load after you interact with the page (or, for visitors in regions requiring opt-in consent, after you provide consent through the site's consent tools). You can control cookies generally through your browser's settings, and opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

3. Advertising and third-party cookies

Toolnova may display advertising served by Google AdSense to help keep the tools free to use. If and when ads are shown:

• Google and its advertising partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to Toolnova and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
• Advertising cookies are unrelated to, and never have access to, the contents of any file you process with Toolnova's tools.

4. What Toolnova does not do

• Toolnova does not sell personal information.
• Toolnova does not require an account, email address or payment to use the free tools on the site.
• Toolnova does not store the content of files you process with its client-side tools.

5. Children's privacy

Toolnova's tools are general-purpose utilities not directed at children under 13, and the site does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

6. Your choices

• You can clear cookies and site data at any time through your browser settings.
• You can use your browser's private/incognito mode to avoid persistent cookies for a session.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising and analytics using the links in sections 2 and 3 above.

7. Changes to this policy

This page may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the tools offered or applicable regulations. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Toolnova after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
